At first glance, especially if you happen to be just in major tourist attractions, it might look that Myanamr cuisine is very simple. Nothing more misleading! There are a few flagship dishes like mote hin gar/ mohinga (noodle with fish soup), gyin thohk (ginger salad with sesame seeds), laphet thok (pickled tea leaves salad), htamin gyaw (fried rice with boiled peas), different types of fried noodles or rice. Sepending where in Myanmar you are, you will find particular ethnic groups specialties, e.g. dried bean ngapi chips which are used to go together with many dishes.
A lot of dishes found in Myanmar are influenced mostly by Chinese or Indian cuisine.
