Last weekend I went to a big concert here, in Poland. It was a bloody hot day. I took my shoes off which resulted in me feeling as if I was on holiday (pretty an awesome feeling 🙂 and reminding me about a similar condition of my feet when I was in Myanmar.
My rest feet during the concert
It is nothing new that Myanmar is a Buddhist country. If you want to respect the rules, you will enter houses or pagodas (temples) with no shoes on.
Each time I was traveling around the golden land and encountered tourists from “the civilized world”, I would see as well those who put their socks on after taking shoes off and crossing the door of a temple. The Myanmar consider this a misbehaviour and lack of manners. And if you do that the proper way, especially during the hot season, your feet would be dirty but happy 🙂
